Throwing knives are deadly weapons. They are an artform that requires years of training and experience to be an expert in. Throwing a knife is in many ways more difficult than throwing a shuriken or ninja star. A throwing knife must balanced. A throwing knife is unlike a normal knife. A Thrower is designed from the start to fly through the air and catch your target at its deadly tip. A knife designed to be thrown must be uniform, perfectly balanced and weighted to go far distances.

Throwing knives can be considered to be a stealth weapon. It is easily hidden and can quickly be dispatched with great power and force. The point of the knife can also be poisoned so that instant death can be administered to the target victim.

Careful practice and care should be taken when practicing, studying and learning this martial art form.

Get as much practice as possible. Twice or 3X a week is nice. Be in good physical shape. Keep your training sessions short, 15 to 20 minute sessions. For accuracy, aim at the exact target you are intending to throw at.

If you find the knife bouncing off your target or not setting properly at the target, adjust your distance or the rotation of the knife. Try gripping the knife differently, higher or lower.

Throwing the knife: Your dominant feet should be behind your recessive foot. The two feet form a 45 degree angle. Both knees are bent, especially the front. The weight rests primarily on the ball of your back foot. Both arms should be straight and point to the target. Your dominant hand should make a nice round and smooth swing to the back, the knife should start from behind the head. Swing forward towards your target and shift your weight to the front.
